Keeper of my Dreams

She sits quietly there,
Hiding behind my eyes,
Watching me live,
Watching me try.

She sees me rise;
She sees me fall.
The love, the pain,
She sees it all.

She tells me she's here,
And understands,
With a soft spoken word,
Or a touch of her hand.

I am not crazy,
Though that I may seem.
I know she is there,
Inside of me.

With her violet eyes,
And butterfly wings,
She is the keeper,
Of my dreams.

Serenity in Sunset

Sunrise.
Sunset.
Across the sky.
Through the earth.
In the stars.
Inder the water.
Along the mountains.
Around the trees.
Between the rocks.
Behind the clouds.
Nature.
Revealing earth for,
What she is:
God's canvas,
On which he created,
My serenity.

Secrets Untold

He was my teacher,
My mentor.
He was the one I looked up to.
He was my elder,
The man with the answers,
To all of life's problems.
He was my friend,
The one who picked me up,
When I fell down.
He took care of me,
Made me smile,
Stopped my tears.
But he kept a secret from me.
Only one.
No matter how many times,
I asked about it,
He never told me,
Anything about it.
"Wait till your older."
He would say to me softly,
The secret clear in his eyes,
Unreadable to me.
Then one day,
Quick as he came into my life,
He was gone.
War came and went,
And took him away.
Him a man,
Me a young woman,
Forever separated,
Across the universe,
And time.
He left his secret,
Written for me,
In a small envelope.
Three words,
No more, no less:
"I love you."

Her Sailor, Her Soldier, Her Life

There she sits,
There she waits,
There she searches,
Searches for him.
Looking across the water,
Glancing across the sea,
Searching far and wide,
For the one she belongs to.
Her sailor is out there somewhere,
Sailing on the sea.
Her soldier's fighting for her,
Fighting to keep her free.
She searches the ocean,
Red from the setting sun,
Searching for her one and only,
Her sailor,
Her soldier,
Her life.
