The Garden

In the corner of the courtyard

Shaded from the heat

Stands a lace covered table

And a wooden garden seat

The table is laid for tea

In an English country style

The chair is there waiting

For you to rest a while

Beside the chair, a gift

Made up with you in mind

A basket full of flowers

Of every single kind

They are all picked with loving care

And placed right at your feet

Their perfume mingles with the air

A soft and fragrant heat

Rest a while upin the garden

Feel the beauty all around

See the petals of white roses

As they flutter to the ground

Smell the honeysuckle climbing

Up and over the wall

Listen to the turtle doves

As they make their loving call

Take tea up in the garden

Feel the sun upon your face

Sip the warm tea slowly

Aware of how it tastes

Take all the time you want to

There's no hurry don't you see

You can always be in THIS garden

No matter where you be.
